The Orient Express
Starting 2025: a journey through history with exceptional elegance and contemporary comfort.
The Orient Express, a train steeped in legend and luxury, is set to make a grand return in 2025. With 17 original cars from the 1920s and 1930s, now known as the ‘Nostalgie-Istanbul-Orient-Express’, the train offers a journey through time with an exceptional blend of historical elegance and contemporary luxury. Reimagined by the passionate architect Maxime d’Angeac, who has a deep appreciation for revolutionary artistic movements, this iconic train is a tribute to the golden age of travel. D’Angeac’s meticulous restoration work on prestigious landmarks and his vast literary collection make him the ideal visionary to lead this project.
As you step aboard, you are greeted by the train’s theatrical corridors, intimate Bar Car, and luxurious Dining Car, each adorned with intricate designs and historical artifacts. Under the Second Empire-style domes of light, the Bar Car’s intimate lounges exude a spectacular green hue, creating a perfect atmosphere for encounters and conversations. The Dining Car reinterprets the legendary train’s codes, offering comfort and luxury under a mirrored ceiling and arches, with napa tables and original marquetry panels.
The journey continues with the train’s luxurious accommodations. The suites, designed with circular shapes to counter the strict lines of the train, are adorned with precious wood, leather walls, and Lalique’s original panels. By day, the spaces invite relaxation with sofas and settees, transforming at night into cozy sleeping areas. The Presidential Suite, occupying an entire car, offers unmatched luxury with a private entrance, a living room, a dreamy bedroom, and a beautifully appointed bathroom. The Orient Express invites you to experience the essence of luxury and the myth of timeless travel.
